The National Blood Foundation (NBF) is a program of AABB that, since its inception in 1983, has supported research and education initiatives advancing transfusion medicine and cellular therapies.

Scholar Program * (Exclusive)

For over thirty years the NBF has awarded over $9 million to early career investigators through its Scientific Research Grants Program. NBF awards grants for investigator initiated original research in all aspects of blood banking, transfusion medicine, cellular therapies and patient blood management. The Scholar Program recognizes those NBF early-career investigators who complete their research project and submit a final report outlining their discoveries. Scholars are acknowledged during the NBF Reception at the AABB Annual Meeting.

Supporting this opportunity celebrates a milestone achievement in the careers of promising early-career scientists in transfusion medicine and cellular therapies.
