AORN Simulation: Debriefing Human Factors in the OR
This session will focus on debriefing and the human factors in play in the OR. Using a real patient situation to stimulate discussion, the audience will participate in a debriefing session by using their perioperative nursing experience to understand how critical events may happen. We will discuss how the entire clinical team can work together to improve patient outcomes by speaking up within the OR, and the factors that influence or hinder the assertiveness needed to have these discussions.
