As you plan for the 2018 Ocean Sciences Meeting, you may receive solicitations from publications and vendors that are not affiliated with OSM 2018, AGU, ASLO, TOS, SPARGO, Inc. or any contracted organization therin. Please be advised that OSM 2018 does not sell exhibitor lists or contact information to anyone. This information is securely provided to OSM 2018 Official Contractors to inform exhibitors of show related services. Solicitations from unofficial vendors are often the result of obtaining public information from the Internet. OSM 2018 partners with select vendors to produce our premiere conference and expo and can intervene on your behalf if any customer service issues arise.

Beware! Scam Warnings
Hotel
It has come to our attention that several companies are inaccurately representing themselves as the "housing vendor" for OSM 2018 and are contacting individuals about the Ocean Sciences Meeting, soliciting business. Specifically, they will offer to make hotel reservations within the Ocean Sciences Meeting block on your behalf, or even offer you a discount from the Ocean Sciences Meeting rate. The Ocean Sciences Meeting has approved SPARGO, Inc. as the official housing bureau for the Ocean Sciences Meeting. They are responsible for coordinating all hotel reservation requests. If you are contacted by a hotel pirating company or any housing group other than SPARGO, Inc., recognize that they are not endorsed by the OSM 2018, and despite their claims, they do not have access to our negotiated discounted rates. If you provide your credit card information to any of these unauthorized vendors, your card may be charged, but you may not have a reservation with you arrive in Portland. This is a scam. Reservations for the Ocean Sciences Meeting should be made directly with SPARGO, Inc.
Attendee Lists
You may have received one or more emails from various sources claiming to have the Ocean Sciences Meeting attendee list for purchase. Please don't fall for this scam. Only OSM 2018 staff and SPARGO, Inc., our official registration company, have access to the registration list. No company is authorized to distribute or sell any lists for the event. AGU, ASLO, TOS, or OSM 2018 cannot be held responsible for any interaction or sale with these fraudulent company(s). If you are contacted by a company claiming to have access to the Ocean Sciences Meeting attendee list, please delete the email and do not reply, or you will receive more scam offers. We take this matter very seriously and will do whatever possible to protect our exhibitors, partners and attendees.
