NG-Test® CARBA 5 is the only 510(k) cleared rapid, multiplex, phenotypic test capable of detecting KPC, OXA-48-like, VIM, IMP, and NDM carbapenemases produced by Enterobacterales and P. aeruginosa.

    • Cost effective - Per test, NG-Test® CARBA 5 is more economical than molecular methods.
    • Accurate - NG-Test® CARBA 5, unlike molecular methods, detects the gene expression which can be crucial to aiding therapeutic decisions.
With CARBA 5, you don't need to guess. Simply perform the test from approved bacterial culture and in 15 minutes, you'll save more than money, you'll be saving lives. Free samples available.
  • Simple detection of Group B Strep in one step! Hardy Diagnostics exclusive Carrot Broth™ One-Step system allows for faster results for the cultivation and identification of beta-hemolytic strains of Group B Streptococcus in pregnant women. When compared to methods such as PCR or LIM broth, Carrot Broth significantly reduces the work load, the cost, and the time necessary to accurately identify GBS colonization in pregnant women. Strep B Carrot Broth™ One-Step features greater sensitivity and decreased turn-around time which lowers overall cost. A clear, chromogenic reaction in as early as eight hours after testing tells you everything you need to know. Positive results do not require additional work ups! If there is no color change, subculture to GBS Detect™ plate. Available in different sizes and formats. Product Z44BX is compatible with automated systems.
  • Candida auris (C. auris) is an evolving pan-resistant fungus, which is classified by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention as an Urgent Threat. More than one out of three patients with an invasive C. auris infection, affecting the blood, heart or brain are likely to die. HardyCHROM™ Candia + auris is recommended for the seletive isolation and differential identification of Candida species. Colonies of C. auris will appear white with a characteristic teal to teal-green "bullseye" center and show a unique fluorogenic reaction under UV light. Most typical yeast colonies tested for fluorescence at 48 hours using a UV lamp at 365nm will be negative, except for C. auris, which will be positive at 48-72 hours.  This medium will also identify C. tropicalis, C. glabrata, C. albicans and C. krusei.   To identify C. glabrata, use GlabrataQuick™ in conjunction with HardyCHROM™ Candida + auris.
  • Hardy Diagnostics, the third largest microbiology manufacturer in the United States, is pleased to introduce the GramPRO 3™; an innovative, fully automated, triple-slide Gram stain unit with the capacity for individual and batch staining. The Gram staining method, named after Hans Christian Gram, the Danish bacteriologist who originally devised the method in 1882, is one of the most important staining techniques in microbiology. It is usually the first test performed for the presumptive identification of bacteria. Despite being invented over a century ago, the differentiation between Gram positive and Gram negative cells remains a fundamental diagnostic step in modern microbiology.
Traditional Gram staining is an onerous procedure that lacks reliability and reproducibility. The GramPRO 3™ automates and standardizes the process resulting in less hands-on time and eliminates technician-to-technician variability. As its name indicates, the GramPRO 3™ can stain up to three slides, using the individual staining mode or the batch staining mode, which expedites results, leading to quicker turnaround times. Every detail of the GramPRO 3™ was specifically designed from the thoughtful feedback of laboratory customers to ensure the GramPRO 3™ would be the most efficient, easy-to-use, and easy-to-maintain unit available.
Some other automated stain units utilize spray technology, which results in over or under decolorization. The GramPRO 3™ however, utilizes a unique patented “electronic eye” which fine-tunes the decolorization process while accommodating variation in sample thickness.
The GramPRO 3™ also automates additional aspects of the sample prep than previous automated stainers.
Other benefits of the GramPRO 3™ include:
    • Simple prompts for main menu, maintenance and stain processes
    • Audible and visible signals when process is complete or needs attention
    • Short or long stain process offers customer customized options
    • Small benchtop footprint
    • Easy software updates
    • Internal diagnostic process
  • HardyDisk™ AST’s are impregnated paper disks used for Antimicrobial Susceptibility Testing (AST); also known as disk diffusion or Kirby-Bauer testing. Each cartridge contains 50 disks that are spring loaded for smooth and reliable dispensing. Hardy Diagnostics has an extensive line of susceptibility testing methods such as HardyDisk™ AST, HardyDisk™ ID, culture media for AST, and the BBL™ Sensidisk. We offer a complete line of all commonly used antibiotics. Available in single cartridges or packs of five. Improved to prevent jamming and tearing.
