"Cooperative Engagement for Partnership Capacity: Africa as a Model for Whole of Government"

AFCEA International and the Naval Postgraduate School will be hosting the inaugural Culture and Organizational Awareness Forum, June 14-16, 2011.  The event will focus on Africa and the role of the United States Africa Command (AFRICOM) in supporting African stability through enhancing partner capacity.  General plenary sessions will be complemented by a series of focused breakout sessions on Security Sector Assistance (SSA), using SSA to explore larger issues of the U.S. military's role in supporting a whole of government approach to promoting partner capacity through engagement strategies.

The conference will be divided between plenary sessions and breakout group sessions to foster deeper and more concrete discussions. 

Plenary Sessions will Feature Speakers from:

• The African Union

• U.S. Africa Command

• U.S. Department of State

• U.S. Agency for International Development 

• Office of the Secretary of Defense

• The Joint Chiefs of Staff 


Breakout Sessions will Focus on:

• Working more effectively across the United States Government 

• Working across the International Community and within Africa

• Operational Challenges and Opportunities
