Profile:
To counter certain security threats in biometric authentication systems, we have developed and now demonstrate a technology for authenticating fingerprint sensors. It uses unique, persistent, and unalterable characteristics of the sensors, estimated from a single fingerprint image. It is also accurate, computationally efficient, and robust in a wide range of conditions. Since it does not require any hardware modifications, it can be added (as software) to systems already placed in service.
