Civica Rx is a nonprofit generic pharmaceutical company created in 2018 by U.S. member hospitals and philanthropic organizations for the express purpose of preventing and mitigating drug shortages. Civica ensures the affordable supply of quality medications used in America's ERs, ICUs and during surgeries. To date, Civica has provided more than 170 million vials or syringes of medications to help treat over 70 million patients. Civica's new 140K sf sterile injectable manufacturing facility in Petersburg, VA will bring even more stability to the supply of key medications for hospitals. Civica, in partnership with its operating unit CivicaScript, announced plans to manufacture and distribute affordable medications for consumers in an outpatient setting, including affordable insulin.
