Future Leaders Initiative
New this year, NRC and the College and University Recycling Council (CURC) are pleased to partner with Novelis to introduce the Future Leaders Initiative.

NRC is offering a special discounted student rate to currently enrolled students. The initiative opens the door for student leaders to interact with recycling professionals and learn about industry trends and best practices, while exploring how you can translate your campus experience into careers in the field. In addition to discounted registration, special sessions and networking opportunities for students have been added to this year’s program.

Registration  fee:	Advance registration fee of $30, $40 on-site
Registration includes:	College and University Recycling Council Tour and Workshop – “Working Towards Zero Waste” (See ‘CURC’ tab for more details).  Breakfast, lunch and transportation to and from Carnegie Mellon from the convention center are included.
Optional events(s):	Tours and workshops and evening Welcoming Reception (see ‘Event Details’ for more details and prices).

 

Monday, September 22

Registration fee:	Advance registration fee of $30, $40 on-site.
Registration includes:	Opening General Session, Admission to Exposition Hall, Walk-Around Lunch in Exposition Hall, (2) Concurrent Sessions or (1) Seminar, Refreshment Breaks and Happy Hour in the Exposition Hall (Cash Bar).
Special sessions for students include:	“Got Food?  Working Towards Zero Waste at Higher Education Institutions” (1:15 – 2:30 p.m.) “Recycling 101:  The Fundamentals of Recycling Systems, Markets and Economics” (3:00 – 4:15 p.m.) “Recycling and Climate Change:  The Value of Recycling  in a Carbon-Constrained World” (1:15 – 4:15 p.m.)
Optional event:	Evening Host Committee Reception

 

Tuesday, September 23

Registration fee:	Advance registration fee of $30, $40 on-site
Registration includes:	Continental Breakfast and Table Topics lunch in Exposition Hall, (4) concurrent sessions, refreshment break in Exposition Hall.
Sessions of interest to students includes:	“Recycling Education & Promotion in the Workplace: Campuses  to Corporations”  (9:00a.m. - 10:15 a.m.)      “RecycleMania:  The Race to Zero Campus Waste” (10:45 a.m. - Noon)       “Student Leadership: Making a Difference on Campus and Beyond” (1:30p.m. - 2:45 p.m.)
Optional event:	Evening Annual Duck Soup Softball Games

 

Wednesday, September 24

Registration fee:	Advance registration fee of $15, $20 on-site.
Registration includes:	Recycling Education Networking Breakfast, (1) Concurrent Session and Closing General Session
Sessions of interest to students includes:	"New Developments in Food Waste and other Composting Initiatives" (9:30 a.m. - 10:45 a.m.)
Optional event(s):	Afternoon tours (see 'Event Details' for more details and prices.)
