Iowa Osteopathic Medical Association
The mission of the Iowa Osteopathic Medical Association is helping members practice osteopathic medicine and preserve the profession. IOMA is the only association that is exclusively advocating for Iowa DO's. IOMA advocates on legislation and regulation impacting osteopathic medicine. IOMA educates policy makers, insurers and other critical stakeholders about osteopathic medicine. IOMA belongs to a nationwide physician coalition addressing scope of practice issues. IOMA represents the profession at the state and national level at the Iowa Board of Medicine, the Iowa Department of Public Health, the US Department of Health and Human Services, and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. IOMA provides affordable, in-state educational offerings.
