    Biochips

Biochips offer miniaturized Multiplexed Point of Care Test (MPOCT) capabilities. These chips reside on silicon or other solid substrates that permit numerous tests to be performed at the same time.  Typically biochip circuits are produced using photolithography which is a slow and costly process.

Conductive Technologies (CTI) offers an exceptionally cost effective alternative to the photolithography process, by ablating a sputtered gold film leaving micro-circuits as fine as 5 microns (with optimization).  Secondary printing process can then be employed to create wells, dielectric surfaces and other features on the biochip at a fraction of the cost of circuits using the spin-coating/photolithography processes.

    Microfluidics

As biochips are often integrated into microfluidic devices, CTI offers engineering and manufacturing services to complete your device into a finished good or component for cassette/module based assays.

Conductive Technologies (CTI) utilizes precision laser ablation techniques for creating intricate features into metal thin films for components used in numerous products.  CTI’s impedance wellplates incorporate microelectrodes in each well enabling faster cell characterization and diagnostic binding assays.  CTI can ablate features as fine as 10 microns and with optimization as fine as 5 microns.

CTI’s ablation capabilities include sensors (amperometric, potentiometric and conductometric); Interdigitated Electrodes (IDE’s), Ion Selective Electrodes (ISE's), Micro-arrays, Circuits and Wellplate circuitry

  • As a trusted sensor and biosensor manufacturer, Conductive Technologies (CTI) offers precise printing, processing and extensive product development to enable the next generation of medical and diagnostic electrochemical biosensor product designs. CTI is your committed partner in product development, from initial sensor concept and prototyping to final commercial product.

We specialize in the design and manufacture of electrochemical sensors, including Ion Selective Electrodes (ISE), utilizing precision printing or ablated circuitry coupled with the precise deposition of a reagent to impart specificity based on Voltametric, Potentiometric and Conductometric parameters.

Our sensors work with instruments designed to convert biochemical activity (bodily fluids) into measurable energy events. CTI sensors are created through a highly automated, precision printing process of electrodes, reagents and catalysts on specialty engineered substrates providing superior quality in a highly cost effective manner.

Serving a wide variety of industries, our team of scientists and engineers quickly transform electrochemical sensor concepts into viable prototypes. As a uniquely capable sensor and biosensor manufacturer, we follow up with scalable manufacturing to deliver finished products that are reliable, easy-to-use and highly cost-effective.

  • At Conductive Technologies (CTI), we apply our expertise in precision printing of electronics and sensors to create the following products:

    • Wearables – require flexible and sometimes stretchable conductive inks to perform bio-rhythmic readings, measuring/applying temperature or perspiration analysis.
    • Positive Temperature Coefficient (PTC) Flexible Heaters – constructed using several elements and critical parameters for delivering self-regulated temps up to 80°C (176°F) within ±5°C (9°F).
    • RFI/EMI/ESD Shielding – both independent and switch-integrated protective shields to guard against digital interference while grounding vagrant electro-static charges.

Each application integrates the optimal combination of materials which are engineered to address the specific performance parameters for printed circuitry as requested by our customers. Our mission is to push the limits of what is possible with flexible printed electronics and wearable sensors, positioning us as a world leader in the field of printed circuitry.

Phase Zero Sensors support early stage development in the design of an assay for measurement of electrochemical signals between test fluids (bodily or otherwise) and a targeted analyte via potentiostat. These high quality sensors are necessary tools for early stage development projects, enabling scientists and lab technicians to devise testing protocols for identifying electrochemical responses. They support iterative testing of reagent mixtures used in the detection of unique analytes within biological samples.

These sensors have a PET substrate, with carbon or gold (Au) working and counter electrodes, and a silver/silver chloride (Ag/AgCl) reference electrode along with a printed insulating dielectric. The mating trace leads are designed to interface with common potentiostat accessories as well as banana plugs or alligator clips. The well walls are designed to contain fluids allowing for reagent deposition to perform testing.
