Advanced Microdevices (MDI) manufactures widest and most consistent range of NITROCELLULOSE MEMBRANES, including those specially developed for COVID antibody test manufacturing. MDI has also developed very reliable, membrane based TB testing devices for microscopy method (PoC Lab) as well as PCR based (transportable) method. MDI's 'PLASMA DROP' Plasma Separation Devices provide Plasma-on-Demand at Point-of-Care in few minutes, without centrifugation, for PoC analysis and patient bedside tests.

Many Point of Care (POC) instruments rely on free plasma for conducting diagnostic tests, necessitating the separation of red blood cells (RBCs) from whole blood samples. Although centrifugation is a common technique, it requires lab processing. Some devices remove RBCs but fail to yield free plasma, retaining it within the separation matrix.

MDI's PlasmaDrop Kit addresses this challenge by swiftly providing a fixed-volume plasma from whole blood for Biochemical, Immunological, and Molecular Biology assays.

A whole blood sample flows through an RBC retentive medium, accumulating free plasma in a reservoir. By squeezing the device, plasma is expelled and collected in a fixed-volume dropper, ready for delivery to a POC instrument/device.

Comprising a device with RBC retentive medium, a squeeze bulb, and a fixed-volume dropper, the kit facilitates the collection and delivery of a predetermined volume of free plasma. It is available in various sizes, catering to finger prick samples (2μl, 5μl), as well as larger volumes (10μl, 25μl) of free plasma.
