Since its inception, the Łukasiewicz Research Network – Institute of Aviation has been engaged in research aimed at practical application of the results of its work. The main areas of scientific interest included the development of aeronautics and astronautics. ILR-33 AMBER 2K rocket has been developed by Institute's Center of Space Technologies since 2014. The rocket is designed to reach an apogee of 100km with 10kg payload, and offers quick and dedicated access to microgravity experimentation or to mesosphere and lower thermosphere sounding. The rocket will allow the science community to perform experiments more independently, without the need to wait for a launch of a larger and more expensive rocket.
