Established by Congress in 1990, the U.S. Global Change Research Program comprises 13 Federal agencies that conduct or use research on global change and its impacts on society. It is mandated to "assist the Nation and the world to understand, assess, predict, and respond to human-induced and natural processes of global change.” USGCRP agencies work together to coordinate global change science and investment; develop mandated products, including the National Climate Assessment; and help translate findings into actionable information.
