A “can’t-intubate, can’t-oxygenate” patient emergency can be frightening for the entire clinical care team. Whether at an ambulatory surgery center or inpatient care setting, perioperative clinicians must be prepared to identify and respond to a failed airway crisis in the operating room. Understanding risk factors for difficult airway will help the team members anticipate and prepare for potential airway issues. Knowing the interventions for an early and coordinated team response could avoid potential devastating injury to the patient. Corporate support provided by Laerdal. Speakers: Emily H. Jones, MSN, RN-BC, CNOR; Jonathan Dort, MD, FACS; John T. Paige, MD, FACS; Maureen W. Hemingway, DNP, RN, CNOR; Robert Rupert
