RR Mechatronics has developed the Lorrca which is a functional Red Blood Cell (RBC) analyzer capable of automated measurement of a broad spectrum of RBC disorders by analysis of their rheological behaviour. The Lorrca Oxygenscan is specifically dedicated for measuring the relative oxygen pressure at the critical point where the RBCs from sickle cell disease (SCD) patients start to sickle. This “Point of Sickling” (PoS) is typical for each individual SCD RBC sample and sensitive to its status.
