Menarini Silicon Biosystems' new Circulating Multiple Myeloma Cell (CMMC) Enumeration assay directly measures levels of plasma cells in the peripheral blood of patients with multiple myeloma and precursor stages of the disease and provides complementary information to that of the bone marrow biopsy and other standard-of-care measures. Minimally invasive, the test monitors plasma cell burden over time without requiring repeated bone marrow biopsies.
