  • Abstract

    Sky Labs is a vital signal big data-based preventative healthcare company. They develop a ring-type medical device, CART to detect and monitor atrial fibrillation which is difficult to detect. By simply wearing CART on a finger, CART continuously detects atrial fibrillation without any user intervention. Also, their proprietary arrhythmia algorithm showed 99% of accuracy. This wearable cardio-tracker can be used very easily by patients’ selves without any user interventions. Patients do not need to visit the hospital every time to check their heart rhythm, but the doctor can see the results through the website. Thus, CART is the platform for continuous monitoring outside of the hospital. It makes to reduces the cost and keeps the quality of life. Thus, CART is the solution for continuous monitoring outside of the hospital. It makes to reduces the cost and keeps the quality of life. Furthermore, they will add the features: blood pressure measurement, detection and monitoring of heart failure, COPD and sleep apnea.

    The CEO of Sky Labs, Jack Lee, said “In Sky Labs’ product and platform, we can be healthier with fewer efforts. We want to continue helping people live healthier and longer.”

    <About Sky Labs>

    Sky Labs is a cardiac signal based preventative healthcare company. We develop a ring-type medical device, CART (CARdio-Tracker) to detect and monitor atrial fibrillation which is difficult to detect in a hospital. By simply wearing CART on a finger, CART continuously detects atrial fibrillation without any user intervention. Also, our proprietary arrhythmia detection algorithm detects atrial fibrillation and normal sinus rhythm very accurately. The results are available in the smartphone app in real-time. We are aiming to transform conventional hospital-centric care, into patient-centric care with continuous monitoring in our daily lives by the CART platform. Information about our Awards and reputation in 2019 is as below.

    ESC 2019: Sky Labs got an award from the technology competition in ESC 2019. This title is not the first time but the second consecutive year. Every year, the selected cardiologists and healthcare professionals by ESC have a vote to choose a winner which has the greatest number of votes that take place as a winner.

    World Economic Forum: Sky Labs is selected as a technology pioneer in 2019 by the World Economic Forum. It is the first time among Korean healthcare companies which makes this more special.

    HRS 2019: CART study with SNUH (Seoul National University Hospital) team received “YIA (Young Investigator Awards)” in HRS (Heart Rhythm Society) symposium 2019. They took part in the clinical study of diagnosis of atrial fibrillation with CART (CARdio-Tracker) by Sky Labs. Every year, HRS hands out the award, which is given to only one study, among various studies all over the world. It is the first time a Korean team has won the award.

    <About CART>

    Sky Labs is developing a ring-type CARdio-Tracker, CART to diagnose atrial fibrillation which is difficult to diagnose even in a hospital. By simply wearing CART on a finger, CART continuously detects atrial fibrillation without any user intervention. The collected data can help the physician diagnose atrial fibrillation. We have conducted proof of concept clinical trials to verify our atrial fibrillation detection. The diagnostic accuracies were 99.58% (130,138/130,688). It will cover the diagnosis of heart failure and sleep apnea, also cuff-less blood pressure measurement.
