Profile

Topical sphenopalatine ganglion block (SPGB) has been described in literature since 1909 as an effective and safe headache treatment, but it has been seldom used by most medical professionals. At our institution, we use this technique with great success for tension headaches, migraines, neck pain, low back pain, and post-dural puncture headaches. Through this exhibit, we will explain how to properly set up our economically affordable sphenopalatine ganglion block applicator and how to safely administer the block. We will also share the results of our most recent publications on the SPGB and explain the theories behind why the block works.
