  • Raku Blooming Geode
Hand thrown, carved texture, Raku fired...

  • The geode was the inspiration for this clay piece. I wanted to show the beauty of nature in combination with the Raku process. Earth, wind and fire combine to form a dynamic statement in clay.
  • American Heritage
Horse Hair Raku. Hand thrown, burnished, Raku fired, horse hair added...

  • The American Indian developed this process to honor their war horses that died in battled. I take this piece out of the kiln at 1400 degrees and add each hair. The hair burns and leaves a carbon trail.   The natural color of the clay and the carbon design create the energy in the design.
  • Colors of copper
    Hand built, carved, Raku fired....

  • This Raku piece is inspired by creating a form  that reaches out and upward.  The magic of the fire brings out the colors of copper.
  • The Dancer
    Hand sculpted clay...

  • Clay can express movement and soft flowing. I wanted the dancer to look as if she is dancing around the floor.
  • Raku Lantern
    Hand thrown, carved, cut opening....

  • The Raku Lantern is hand throw with cut opening to allow light to enter the interior. A LED candle can be placed inside to allow light to shine thru.  The colors of copper enhance the 3 dimensional composition.
