• Micro Merchant Systems appoints Brian Courtney as Chief Revenue Officer (Sep 06, 2018)

  Syosset, New York:  Micro Merchant Systems, a leading provider of North American pharmacy software solutions has announced the appointment of Brian Courtney, Pharm.D. as Chief Revenue Officer.  Mr. Courtney will help the company manage its rapid rate of growth, with direct responsibility for building the company’s expanding sales team.

  “As pharmacies across the United States continue to realize the benefits of our technology systems, including our core PrimeRx™ solution, Micro Merchant Systems will add the necessary sales professionals under Brian Courtney’s exceptional leadership,” said Chief Executive Officer Ketan Mehta.

  “One of Brian’s initial challenges will be to hire the right software sales professionals to assist in our Midwestern, Western, Southeastern and Southwestern regional expansions,” Mehta added.

  Mr. Courtney has an extensive background in the pharmaceutical industry, with more than 17 years of experience with companies ranging from start-ups to industry leaders.  He has served in many capacities including sales, marketing, business development, mergers & acquisitions, and operations. 

  Most recently, Mr. Courtney was Senior Vice President of Sales and Business Development at Fagron North America, a leading pharmaceutical compounding company.  Prior to that, Brian served as Vice President of medical sales at Drip Drop Inc., where he oversaw implementation of the company’s new product launch and sales strategies.

  “Brian brings a wealth of experience and insight that will allow him to excel in his new position,” Mehta said.  “He is extremely knowledgeable about current trends in the pharmaceutical industry, and how those trends fuel the changing needs of today’s pharmacies.”

  Mr. Courtney holds a doctorate in pharmacy from the College of Pharmacy at Washington State University and began his career serving as a pharmacist in various settings.

  Syosset, New York: Micro Merchant Systems, a leading provider of North America pharmacy software solutions, today announces PrimeRx™, its premier automated (turnkey) refill management system, successfully interfaces with Retail Management Solutions’ Star-Plus (and Star-Lite) POS System. This bi-directional interface with PrimeRx and Star-Plus allows for scanning the RX at the POS, stores the details of the person who picked up the Rx, and signature capture of HIPAA and the Rx.

  Micro Merchant System’s PrimeRx™ approved for use by CPESN® Participating Pharmacies

  Syosset, New York:  Micro Merchant Systems, a leading provider of comprehensive pharmacy technology solutions, announced that its signature PrimeRx™ pharmacy management platform has successfully completed testing for transacting Pharmacist electronic care plans (eCare Plans).   This enhancement enables PrimeRx pharmacies to meet CPESN® Network requirements for clinical integration.

  In securing this important approval, PrimeRx™ successfully met HL7 performance requirements, which include the capability to fully support network pharmacy e-care plans.  HL7 is the international standards body that the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid and others rely on to set standards for meaningful use and other health information exchange programs and IT adoption efforts for physicians and other care team members.

  Pharmacist eCare Plans are a relatively new tool available to capture, manage – and share – critical patient medical information across patient care teams.  The eCare Plan replaces existing processes in which patient records are often maintained in manual files, or spread across multiple systems, or worse post it notes.  Through the eCare Plans, pharmacists can collect and share important information with doctors, clinicians and other members of a patient’s health care team, thereby enabling better care while reducing redundant data entry, and eliminating the risk of prescription conflicts.

  The PrimeRx™ solution also enables documentation of all services rendered to each patient, which an essential strategy in the effort to gain access to reimbursement for services. 

  PrimeRx™ will integrate with CPESN participant pharmacies to ensure seamless access to patient records, as well as automatic transmission of reimbursement claims to payers.
