Since 1990 Fisher Houses have been serving military families during times of medical crisis. These comfort homes are designed and built by the Fisher House Foundation, Inc., and given as gifts to the Military Services and the Department of Veterans Affairs. The Army is the proud recipient of 17 of the 76 existing Fisher Houses that are around the world. They are uniquely designed to provide a "home away from home" atmosphere where families and caring friends can nurture one another and relax after spending the day at the hospital. In fiscal year (FY) 2017 the Army Fisher Houses served a total of 3,213 families, providing 59,370 lodging nights at no cost to the families, all thanks to our volunteers and supporters. Fisher Houses - a gift of love! Charitable contributions are an important source of funding for Army Fisher Houses.
