• UTS Systems Begins Full-Rate Production of Energy Efficient Small Shelter S (Jul 14, 2026)

  FAIRFIELD, Va. — August, 2025 — UTS Systems LLC has begun full-rate production and delivery under its $52 million firm-fixed-price, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity (IDIQ) contract for Energy Efficient Small Shelter Systems (EESSS). The EESSS program, awarded in November 2022, represents a significant milestone in UTS’s partnership with the U.S. Air Force to enhance deployable infrastructure efficiency and performance.

  Designed to reduce fuel consumption in expeditionary operations, EESSS shelters deliver exceptional thermal performance in both extreme hot and cold conditions. Preproduction testing demonstrated outstanding results across all environmental ranges.

  Full-rate production began in early 2025, with initial deliveries commencing in June. UTS continues to receive excellent feedback from the Base Expeditionary Airfield Resources (BEAR) program and Air Force personnel at all levels, reinforcing confidence in the system’s capability and reliability.

• UTS Systems Expands Operations with New 72,000 Sq. Ft. Facility in Waynesbo (Jul 14, 2026)

  WAYNESBORO, Va. — May, 2025 — UTS Systems, a leader in mobile infrastructure systems, is expanding its operations into a newly leased 72,000 sq. ft. facility in Waynesboro, Virginia. The new location strengthens the company’s regional footprint and enables further operational consolidation near its corporate headquarters in Fairfield, VA.

  The Waynesboro facility will serve as a primary location for assembly and integration activities, along with centralized logistics to streamline material storage and distribution. This expansion is necessary to meet current production demands while supporting the execution of new opportunities across the company’s growing defense and commercial markets.

  “We are excited to build our presence in Waynesboro and continue investing in the region,” said James Maurer, CEO, UTS Systems. “This expansion will help us better serve our customers, streamline operations, and increase capacity for future growth.”

  UTS Systems selected Waynesboro based on the city’s strong partnership, proactive support of business expansion, and access to a skilled and readily available workforce. The company anticipates that the facility will contribute to continued economic growth and collaboration throughout the Shenandoah Valley.
