    • Cities and Counties need accurate pavement condition data for their road network every year as an input into their pavement maintenance planning process.

    However, the inspection process is often time-consuming and entirely manual with Engineers hitting the streets on foot to visually inspect and record distress information manually.

    Mobile Mapping Systems fail to meet this need because LiDAR-based inspections do not have sufficient resolution and accuracy to meet industry standards. As well, data processing is typically manual and requires the user to have pavement engineering-based knowledge.
