    Press-brake-formed steel tub girder for short span bridge use. The Valmont U-BEAM™ provides cost savings through standardized design, easy shipping and installation, reduced maintenance needs, and a long service life....

    • The Valmont U-BEAM™ is a ​press-brake-formed steel tub girder best suited for short span bridges approximately 20-100 feet long. It comes in 5 standard shapes - the U12, U18, U24, U30 and U33. This standardization leads to an expedited design and drawing process. The beams have a shallow depth of field and are much lighter than traditional methods. This makes shipping and installation easier as the beams can be moved and installed with smaller, more effiecient, equipment. The galvanized coating on a Valmont U-BEAM™ delivers a 75-year maintenance-free service life, in addition to the extra service life provided by the steel underneath the coating, adding to a service life of more than 100 years. An inspection hatch allows for easy inspection of the coating and beam performance.
