The S-Monovette® POC Collect Kit provides state-of-the-art technology for precise and controlled venous sample collection from an IV or indwelling catheter and dispensing into single-use test cartridges. A minimal sample volume is collected into a treated S-Monovette® tube, and a dispensing adapter is provided for subsequent cartridge loading. After POC dispensing, the analyzer-ready S-Monovette® tube can be sent directly to the laboratory if confirmation testing is required, facilitating patient blood management. In addition to reducing test cartridge rejection and minimizing the risk of blood aerosols and exposure, the S-Monovette® POC Collect Kit decreases turn-around-time, leading to improved patient outcomes and facility proficiency.

The Sarstedt BL 1200 is a modular accessioning and sorting instrument that can be used in conjunction with any analytical platform. The unit features a Bulk Loader that eliminates manual sorting and pre-racking. Multiple tube sizes and types are accepted, and capped tubes are simply poured into the loader for walk-away processing. Tubes are automatically singularized and the tube type and barcode are identified. Sort and distribution rules are customized to analyzer specific or generic racks, centrifuge adapters, or to bulk bins. Up to 1,200 tubes can be processed per hour, and an optional Pick and Place module allows the BL 1200 ID to be connected to a track system.

Compared to other pre-analytical steps, sample aliquoting from primary to secondary tubes is a slow process. The AL-Flex is a compact, stand-alone aliquoter that increases throughput by separating aliquoting from other preparation steps. It can process up to 380 primary tubes per hour based on information from the LIS. The AL-Flex can create as many secondary tubes from the primary as the sample volume allows. Conductive, single-use tips ensure precise volumes and contamination-free pipetting. Each secondary tube is labeled with the required customer specific information. Primary and secondary tubes are then sorted by the AL-Flex instrument into pre-defined target racks for further processing.

Sarstedt’s Metal Free Tube is a 7 ml screw cap tube certified with low threshold levels of 19 commonly tested metals. The Metal Free Tube is manufactured in a controlled and specially developed process to minimize metal content and contact. The process was validated with third party testing of multiple lots, and the metals and threshold limits are listed on each tamper-evident, zip-top bag of 25 tubes. Each tube with pre-assembled screw cap is affixed with a distinctive blue “Metal Free” label for easy differentiation in the laboratory. Sarstedt’s Metal Free Tube has a diameter of 13 mm, a length of 82 mm, and a round base. Free samples are available for comparative samples.
