A fully automated random access liquid-chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) analyzer. Up to 60 samples can be loaded, with additional samples loaded as they are received. Sample racks accommodate samples in different-sized barcoded sample tubes or in sample cups to allow testing of serum, plasma and whole blood. After initial sample processing, test results are produced every two minutes. The Cascadion system is a complete solution with all reagents, supplies and dedicated service and support from a single supplier. The system offers full traceability: results linked to specific lots of reagent, calibrators and controls. The analyzer can be connected to Middleware or a LIS for a fully automated workflow. The system uses gold standard broth microdilution technology, as only an MIC result provides the most accurate measure of antimicrobial effect for optimal clinical decisions and improved patient outcomes.
