 Press Releases

  • Cincinnati, Ohio -- Spider technology is renowned worldwide for exceptional leak resistance and long life. Clippard developed, patented and perfected this spider technology. Ideal applications have exceeded 1,000,000,000 cycles with this technology which utilizes one moving part that travels a mere 0.007” during operation. This single moving part with a short stroke enables the ES series to operate with exceptional reliability.

The ES series features large cross sectional o-rings, minimal leak points, and proven poppet designs. All mounting hardware is outside of the flow path for the ES, and no internal parts are threaded during assembly to reduce the possibility of contamination. The ES has the best performance-to-price ratio for low leak valves.

The compact footprint coupled with the long life, and exceptional leak resistance make the ES line suited to improve reliability in a wide range of applications including biomedical, dental, test equipment, oxygen control, textile, packaging, pressure control, automation and portable systems.

      Over 1 billion cycles

      0.01 atm sccm leak rate

      No threads in flow path

  • Cincinnati, Ohio -- Known for reliability, innovation and focus on miniature pneumatics, Clippard’s new Cordis HP500 pressure controls utilize the proven EV line of electronic valves allowing for steady, repeatable downstream pressure under static conditions. The result, a precise linear pressure control within a closed-loop system.

The Cordis uses a microcontroller, integrated pressure sensor, and two Clippard EV electronic valves. The inlet valve is connected to the moderately regulated supply pressure and the exhaust valve is connected to a port that vents excess pressure to atmosphere. Once a command is increased, the inlet valve opens up to allow supply pressure to pass over the sensor element which provides an active feedback for the micro-controller to satisfy the set point in the process. If at any point the sensor detects a value higher than the set point, the exhaust valve will modulate open to vent off the excess pressure to maintain a stable and accurate control pressure in the process.

The Cordis HP500 pressure regulator is adaptable to a variety of sensors that can close the loop around pressure.

    ·           Smooth linear control
    ·           Pressure Range of 0 to 500 psig

  • Cincinnati, Ohio – The Clippard NIV Series Media Isolation Valve is a solenoid-operated device that uses a flexible diaphragm to isolate the actuation mechanism from the fluid path. Media isolation valves are commonly used for a wide variety of applications, including those that require precise, repeatable dispensing of media for analytical instrumentation.

All wetted areas of the valve are either PEEK or PTFE, making this series ideal for use with corrosive media. A unique feature of the NIV Series is the one-piece valve stem that functions as a sealing membrane while also supporting and centralizing the poppet in the seating area. This multi-functional poppet/diaphragm/stem results in a simplified design with fewer parts (only two for the 2-Way and three for the 3-Way), longer life and zero dead volume. Choose from four orifice sizes available as 2-Way Normally-Closed, 2-Way Normally-Open, or 3-Way Selector/Diverter.

Industries and applications that commonly use these types of valves to isolate gas or liquid include: drug dispensing, laboratory equipment, analytical, chemical analysis, sampling, life science/biotech, genetic research, gas chromatography, spectrometry, DNA synthesizing, blood analyzing, printing, diagnostic equipment, fermentation, water treatment and more.

    • Low power consumption
    • Bidirectional
    • Zero dead volume
    • All wetted areas PTFE or PEEK
    • Ideal for use with corrosive media
    • Fast response time & high cycle life
    • CE, RoHS Compliant
    • Proudly made in the USA

  • Cincinnati, Ohio – The Clippard NPV Series Miniature Pinch Valve is a solenoid-operated device that is designed to open and close tubes for controlling fl ow of liquids and gases. Other valve

types have internal passages that may cause small amounts of fl uid to remain in the valve. Pinch valves have no areas or dead volume where fl uid can become trapped. Only the inside of the

tubing contacts the fl uid. Energizing the solenoid retracts or attracts the plunger, which opens or closes the tube. De-energizing the solenoid will allow the plunger to return to its original state.

Common industries that use pinch valves for the benefi ts of isolating fl uid from a mechanical valve include: drug dispensing, laboratory equipment, waste water, medical devices, chemical,

food and beverage equipment, ceramic/glass/plastic, and bulk and solids handling.

    • Four sizes with multiple pressure range options to 30 psig

    • Small, compact design

    • Hygienic and easy to clean (replace tubes)

    • Low power consumption

    • High cycle life

    • Can handle whole blood and particulate matter

    • Unobstructed fl ow path

    • Each valve comes with 12” of medical/laboratory or food grade silicone tubing, pre-installed

    • Variety of tubing sizes available

    • Tubing is easily replaceable
