New RSV Antibodies Feature
Compared with our previous pair of RSV antibodies (A138-Ab1&Ab2) which detect Fusion glycoprotein (F protein), our new pairs of RSV antibodies (A138-Ab3~6), which detect Nucleoprotein (N protein), showed higher sensitivity and stronger intensity in the test line.
From our experiments, the control pair-P0 failed to detect RSV strain VR-1580 even at the high concentration. Tested with another five cell-cultured RSV virus strains (VR-26, -1400, -1540, RSV Lin and VP-07-01), Artron RSV rapid tests made by both new pair-P1 and pair-P2 had stronger intensity of signal in the test line than the control pair-P0 while the signal intensity was stronger in the pair-P2 than in the pair-P1. In addition, pair-P0 was unable to detect RSV Lin at the concentration of 1/100,000 dilution while P1 and P2 still can show signal.
Both pair-P1 and pair-P2 were suitable to be applied in the Lateral Flow Assay (LFA) platform with high performance. Also, tested with 33 pathogens related to respiratory tract, 20 healthy donors’ samples and one artificial nasal sample, there were no positive signals found in the test line and hence that these three antibodies’ pairs have no cross-reaction with common respiratory tract pathogens.
In conclusion, our Artron RSV rapid tests made with P1 and P2 matched antibodies pair have the better performance in sensitivity and specificity compared to the previous P0 antibodies in lateral flow assay.
