Our mission goes beyond adoption. We serve children and families.

We help children and families in crisis find stability and security, through adoption, counseling, and assistance with basic needs. Every family is different, and we help create caring solutions that provide for the child, the mother, and other siblings.

Who We Are

Advocates for Children and Families (ACF) is a non-profit organization that has been advocating for the well-being of children and families since 1992.

Our ACF+ program is a driving force in supporting medically complex children and their families.

ACF is a licensed child placing agency.

How We Have Evolved

The field of adoption has changed significantly over the last 30 years. Throughout our years of service there have been changes in legislation and advances in evidence based-social sciences that have influenced our work and pushed us to continuously address the ethical dilemmas related to adoption. In January 2022, we merged with Adoption Authority to increase our impact. This collaboration of two successful non-profits joining together allowed us to evolve and expand our services to effectively address the vulnerability of infants, children, and parents in crisis. Our comprehensive program services include ACF Adoptions, ACF Community, and ACF Counseling.

What We Do

Our Board, Staff, Volunteers, Sponsors, and Donors are improving the communities we serve by:

Why We Need You

Advocates for Children and Families (ACF) does collect fees for some adoption services, but the majority of the services we provide do not generate revenue. In 2021, 70.5% of the services provided were unpaid. ACF relies on grants, donations, and corporate sponsors to adequately respond to the needs of women and children in crisis, and to subsidize our medically complex adoption program.
