Profile

Obstetric patients who receive combined spinal-epidural anesthesia for elective cesarean section frequently experience intraoperative nausea and vomiting. Prophylactic therapy with antiemetic agents can have multiple adverse effects to the mother and baby. We would like to demonstrate how to properly and safely administer electrical P6 stimulation, which has significantly reduced the rate of intraoperative nausea and vomiting in our patients. This is a simple and effective technique that could be of great interest to patients and obstetric anesthesiologists who prefer treatments with fewer potential side effects.
