ASCO Policy and Advocacy
ASCO’s Policy and Advocacy programs cover a broad spectrum of issues, including coverage and reimbursement, access to care, health equity, value and cost, workforce diversity, research, survivorship, and cancer prevention.
Activities include legal analysis, development of position statements, comments on proposed legislation/regulations, testimony, advocacy, coalition management, and special studies on issues of importance to the cancer community.
Policy and Advocacy staff collaborate on a regular basis with ASCO’s State and Regional Affiliates, other medical specialty/professional societies, policymakers, political leaders, and patient advocate organizations to advance common goals.
Attendees can pick up the following information:
• Tobacco, Obesity, and Survivorship Guides
• Health Policy Leadership Development Program Flyers
• ASCO’s Advocacy 101 Guide
Staff at the booth will demonstrate how to contact elected officials on issues effecting cancer care by using the ASCO ACT Network.
