Japanese Society of Medical Oncology(JSMO) was founded in 2002, for establishing Medical Oncology in Japan. JSMO’s activities include an annual scientific meeting, educational seminars, the “Best of ASCO(R)", and publication of text books/guidelines. With these extensive efforts, number of JSMO members has now exceeded over 9,000 with 1,604 board-certified medical oncologists trained based on ASCO/ESMO global curriculum. JSMO has also been expanding international collaborations with various overseas societies to standardize global oncology care and promote innovative oncology researches.
