RR Mechatronics has developed the Lorrca platform which is a functional Red Blood Cell (RBC) analyzer capable of automated measurement of a broad spectrum of RBC disorders by analysis of their rheological behaviour. The recent developed Lorrca Oxygenscan is measuring the relative oxygen pressure at the critical point where the RBCs from sickle cell anemia (SCA) patients start to sickle. This “Point of Sickling” (PoS) is typical for each sickle cell RBC sample and sensitive to its status.
