Chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy trains the immune system to attack cancer by engineering a patient’s T cells with an artificial chimeric antigen receptor that targets the CD-19 protein. 

MD Anderson’s Cellular Therapy Program is pioneering the use of this new therapy with novel research that’s broadening its application and improving the management of related toxicities.

Our specialized clinic is dedicated to managing graft-versus-host disease, and our Matched Unrelated Donor Program has earned recognition by the National Marrow Donor Program. We also maintain our own cell processing laboratory through which we perform more than 1,000 tissue collections each year.
