Jesamie Handwovens creates elegant, well-tailored garments  and accessories from comfortable, washable cotton yarns for women and men, in sizes petites to plus.

Working on the 50” wide handlooms, master weaver and colorist, Pam Bartl, and her assistants, Cindy and Karen, handweave the fabric, thread by thread.

Each piece is woven as a work of art.

After being woven, the fabric is cut off the loom, preshrunk, dried, pressed and readied for the cutting table, where Pam cuts each part of the garment, one piece at a time.

Only she can cut the fabric into the piece’s component parts, insuring that her initial design perceptions of the work are carried into completion. Next, the pieces are overlocked and Cindy constructs the garment

Jesamie has added a new twist to the clothing line-fleece vests with handwoven decorative facings and collars.

We are often asked how long does it take to a make a piece.

It takes about six hours to warp or dress a loom with 500 threads, forty yards long, ten throws of the shuttle per inch, three hundrend and sixty per yard. Each bobbin of yarn will weave about three to four inches.
