Marie creates unique necklaces and bracelets using an adaptation of the ancient art of Kumihimo. Kumihimo is a braiding technique developed in 7th century Japan to braid silk cords. She uses the traditional Muradai and works with glass beads, unique center beads and nylon fiber to make her pieces. Marie gets great satisfaction out of repurposing this ancient art in a way that creates not only attractive pieces for today's customer, but designs that have a unique story and link to history.
