Jenee creates preserved moss pieces in upcycled frames, incorporating found bark and dried flowers to transform everyday items into 3-D gardenscapes (no maintenance required). She embraces nature in the urban environment and seeks opportunities to incorporate local, sustainable solutions in her work. Every piece begs to be touched - to connect the viewer with both nature and art. Her work is a constant reminder of all that is beautiful and worth preserving in the environment around us.

Preserved moss in a reclaimed, vintage house window - reindeer and sheet moss with foraged bark and dried amaranthus emerging from the frame

  • I found this rustic house window and couldn't bring myself to leave it behind. Combined with dried amaranthus I rescued from a friend and bark I picked up somewhere along the way, I like to think I've given it a new life, a new view for a few more decades.

Preserved moss and foraged bark set in a reclaimed house window

    31.5 inches wide X 37.5 inches high...

  • This piece reminds me of a campground I found in the middle of Nevada, the mountains appearing like the mark of a bear claw out of the forest.
