    Transportation Research Information Services (TRIS) including the TRID and Research in Progress (RiP) Databases

    At the TRIS booth, TRB's research databases will be demonstrated:

    • TRID – the TRIS and lTRD Database (trid.trb.org) – contains more than 1.2 million records of published research covering all modes and disciplines of transportation.
       
    • The Research in Progress (RiP) website (rip.trb.org) provides a database of current or recently completed transportation research projects and an alerting service of new projects in specified subject areas. Registered users may also enter projects in the database.
       
    • The TRB Publications Index (pubsindex.trb.org) contains records for all papers, articles, reports, and conference proceedings published by the Transportation Research Board, the Highway Research Board, the Strategic Highway Research Program, and the Marine Board from 1923 to today.
       
    • The Research Needs Statement (RNS) Database (rns.trb.org) is a searchable database of research problems or needs developed by TRB’s technical committees. Stop by the Information Services exhibit to learn more about these research tools and see demonstrations of these valuable resources.

Standing Committees provide a forum for transportation professionals to identify and share research needs and innovations, develop professional networks, and advance the knowledge and practice of transportation.

    MyTRB will facilitate your connection with as many as 200+ Standing Technical Committees. Becoming involved with Standing Technical Committees will help you shape the direction of future TRB Annual Meetings, plan specialty conferences and workshops, and connect with your peers.

    Involvement in TRB’s Cooperative Research Programs (CRP)

    TRB’s Cooperative Research Program (CRP) manages research related to airports, behavioral traffic safety, highways, and transit agencies. More than 5,000 transportation practitioners and researchers voluntarily serve on more than 600 CRP research project oversight panels. Panel members consider research proposals, recommend contract awards, monitor progress of the research conducted by contractors, provide technical guidance, and review final reports.

    The Airport Cooperative Research Program (ACRP), the Behavioral Traffic Safety Research Program (BTSCRP), the National Cooperative Highway Research Program (NCHRP), and the Transit Cooperative Research Program (TCRP) are applied, contract research programs that synthesize current practices and develop near-term, practical solutions to problems facing transportation agencies.
