The automated TotalPave IRI collector simply requires the user to click the “Start Data Collection” button on the application and it begins logging raw acceleration, GPS, and magnetometer information from the smartphone while driving. When the “Stop” button is pressed, the data is sent wirelessly to the organization’s space on TotalPave’s cloud-based server where algorithms are used to calculate an IRI value for the target section of road.
