TRACC is a multi-modal journey time software application that allows public transport and Highways information to be edited and evaluated to look at how making changes to the network can affect journeys. There are over 500 users of TRACC across the United Kingdom, Europe, Australia and North America and it has been used to inform many major transport schemes, plan new developments, increase active travel and monitor transport accessibility.
For example, TRACC is being used by the District Department of Transportation in Washington to test scenarios around increasing bus speeds on a number of their central routes to assess the impact on journey time, bus frequency and route efficiency. TRACC has allowed them to edit the existing network easily delivering robust outcomes to help inform future planning and network changes. Using TRACC they have carried out this analysis quickly in-house without outsourcing the work or relying on labour-intensive and less accurate methodologies.
